Last Friday I met up with Sharon and Chris from Art Moves of Chelsea, the Specialist Art Couriers outside the RWA (Royal West of England Academy) in Clifton, Bristol. They have taken my four paintings up to London for the SWA (Society of Women Artists) 153rd Exhibition at The Mall Galleries.

They will carefully keep my paintings in storage until the Receiving Days towards the end of April.

The exhibition will be opened by HRH Princess Michael of Kent, patron of the SWA, on Wednesday 25th June at about 10.30am. Please contact me if you would like an  invitation which gives two people free entry to the Private View. It is always a very vibrant, packed affair so best to arrive early in order to get a chance to see the paintings and sculpture properly.

Please note that I shall be in London for a week while the exhibition is on so please contact me if you want to meet up for a coffee and chat, it would be good to see you.

Exhibition open: Thursday 26 June to 5 July 10am to 5pm daily, closing at 3pm on 5 July.

Latest Paintings of Musicians on exhibition in Cardigan

I have just delivered 7 recent paintings of music and musicians to Custom House Gallery in Cardigan. They include paintings portraying award winning percussionist Evelyn Glennie playing marimba, to Jan Garbarek the acclaimed  saxophonist. The music conductor David Lawrence is portrayed in 3 vibrant paintings. All my paintings have their source in quick biro drawings I make from life whilst attending rehearsals, masterclasses and performances. These drawings provide the inspiration for the paintings I then work on when back in my studio. Have a look at the short video on my website under Selected Media-Video.

“Have seen your landscapes in previous exhibitions this is something new and stimulating. Loved it.” JMW

“Could spend hours here – the pictures are talking to each other.” JC

A visit on the last day by a group of Swansea art students brought this comment from their tutor :

Fab exhibition of line, colour and abstract expression. Was enjoyed by all students visiting this morning. Provoked many conversations and inspired all the students to explore, experiment and to be freer in their application of lines, colour and compositions. A huge thank you.” TF
