Honoured to be selected for membership of the Royal Watercolour Society of Wales

I’m looking forward to having the opportunity to exhibit alongside other professional artists whose work contains a focus on the versatility of water-based media on paper.

Showcasing my work within the Society’s lively exhibition programme at quality exhibition venues both within Wales and internationally, will bring new audiences to my work.

Interesting blog!

Vibration copy

Came across this blog recently. Flattered that she likes my work, and that she thinks they are painted by a male artist!

“These are some pictures from his sound and vibration gallery and his earth and water gallery. I absolutely admire this work as each stroke works perfectly combine with big bold strokes to small lines, curved or straight or sharp, and in each picture, each of these strokes works so well with the colours that it automatically hits you with emotions. Not only does he do this, but he also draws out basic lines which can be seen as figures or objects or nature and gets your mind exploring the image more creatively.”

Young Musician of Dyfed is a competition for instrumentalists under the age of 19 years that offers all competitors an individual masterclass with some of the country’s leading players. I enjoyed drawing during the masterclasses where Steve Bingham, international violinist and Andrew Wilson-Dickson, composer and keyboard player, gave interesting insights into improving their understanding and performance skills. The three musicians shown above were amongst those selected for the final on Saturday the 25th April at Rhosygilwen. www.ymmd.org.uk

“Limitless Reverberation” – Mugenkyo Taiko Drumming Concert

concertina of mug miyuki way of drum zoom in mugA great concert at Theatr Mwldan in Cardigan a few nights ago-’The Way of the Drum’ showed the amazing range of Mugenkyo’s skills led by founding members Neil Mackie and Miyuki Williams. As ever, my itchy fingers wouldn’t sit still and I filled a concertina sketchbook with drawings made during the performance. Looking forward to developing these into finished paintings in my studio.
