Art Moves of Chelsea collected four of my musician paintings from outside the RWA in Bristol recently. They will deliver these to the Mall Galleries on the 25th of April for selection for the 154th Annual Exhibition which runs from the 5 – 13 June 2015. This painting is from my series of music conductors.

BBC The One Show films are aired!
16 minutes, 34 seconds into the programme on Tuesday 31st of March it was good to finally see the film shot last August in St Davids, Pembrokeshire when eleven artists, ranging from professionals to students to amateurs spent a day drawing as many portraits as we could. This was in support of Grahame Hurd-Wood who is working on a project to paint every resident in the UK’s smallest city – the film featuring his project was shown on the previous day.
Am pleased that some good shots of both myself and my chalk pastel portraits were included. You can see a brief glimpse of me working on my portrait of Dominic (above) in the film.
Catch the programme on iplayer for 28 days from date of transmission.
BBC The One Show – Another postponement!
Sorry everybody but I have just found out that the films due to be transmitted on the 23rd-24th of March have been cancelled. New dates are Monday 30th and Tuesday 31st of March and my work will appear on the Tuesday programme.
New work on the way to Suffolk Gallery
A selection of new work is on its way to Suffolk including these two horses – Proud Stallion (top) and Calm Mare. To see them in their new setting pay a visit to Seapictures Gallery in Clare, Suffolk where Sarah and Alaric Pugh will give you a warm welcome.
New Date For The One Show Screening of Operation Portrait
Following the postponement of showing the two Operation Portrait films on BBC’s The One Show, the new date that is again pencilled in is Wednesday the 11th of February. Photographs above show Alan Amis posing for me in the Goat Street Gallery, St Davids for Operation Portrait.
Interesting blog!
Came across this blog recently. Flattered that she likes my work, and that she thinks they are painted by a male artist!
“These are some pictures from his sound and vibration gallery and his earth and water gallery. I absolutely admire this work as each stroke works perfectly combine with big bold strokes to small lines, curved or straight or sharp, and in each picture, each of these strokes works so well with the colours that it automatically hits you with emotions. Not only does he do this, but he also draws out basic lines which can be seen as figures or objects or nature and gets your mind exploring the image more creatively.”

BBC The One Show screening in January 2015
Transmission dates are pencilled in for Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th of January, 2015 but are subject to change. One film features Grahame Hurd-Wood and his ongoing project painting portraits of every resident in St Davids, Pembrokeshire. The second film shows myself and eleven other artists rising to the challenge of drawing as many portraits as we could in one day. This took place on a lovely sunny day at The Goat Street Gallery, which overlooks St Davids Cathedral, on the 7th of August 2014.
Lucy and I are one year old today!
For those of you who’ve been noticing over the last twelve months that I have gradually become computer literate, let me introduce you to Lucy who is my PA, and a real star. Without her help I would still be floundering, whereas now my confidence grows daily, thank you Lucy.
Lucy is also an illustrator and artist, you can find examples of her work at www.lucy-burns.com
